As a thrill seeker i would will say that a graveyard is a place to start. But as a paranormal research group, graveyards poses alot of problems.First of all a group is trying to find scientific evidence to prove or disprove the existence of ghosts. When reviewing that evidence, alot of times that evidence can be easily contaminated from animals, and the weather.Secondly, most of those people residing(lol) in that cemetary prob passed of natural causes, so the chance of them lingering is not that great.

I would have to agree with Billy on this. As much fun and scares that I had when I was younger playing in the graveyards. I would have to say that graveyards are more for the excitment than for an Investigation For 1 thing, the evidence will 90% of the time be contaminated either by weather or animals not mention the bugs. And as Billy said. think about it...where would you think a ghost is going to be...were they are killed or, near loved ones, or even connected to a place they lived but not thier final resting place. It is generally on a holy site that is sanctified and blessed. Now if they were killed and buried in some hidden or desolute place then I could see it.

I agree with Billy and Richard. I think it is fun to investigate graveyards and I find them and their legends that surround some of them very interesting. But as they pointed out, it is hard to get good evidence because it is outside and likely to be contaminated by outside noise. I also have often wondered if spirits would actually haunt them because that is usually where they are laid to rest. I would think a ghost would be most likely to linger in place where loved ones are at, the place where someone possibly hurt or killed them, or maybe they are just attached to the house they lived in. Although I would never say that a graveyard couldn't be haunted (anything is possible!) and it could be a fun investigation, you would just have to consider any evidence you get will probably not be concrete.

Does this include all graveyards or just graveyards that are public and/or in the premises of a church. I know that a lot of times.. especially out in the country.... many private properties or properties handed down by families have "family plots" very close to the houses or have a mousolium type thing in the area that is enclosed and not really around anything. These might serve up different circumstances but for the most part I agree with the rest of the group.
